JOB SUMMARY
The plumbing Design Engineer will be responsible for creating and developing Plumbing and Fire Protection systems for commercial and residential properties.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create Plumbing and Fire Protection (Piped Services) engineering design; Water requirement calculations, load Calculation, equipment selection, capacity sizing, specifications etc. in accordance with relevant acceptable codes and standards.
- Proffering solutions and advise to client Design requests.
- Complete field observations at appropriate intervals to review status and compliance of Site installations.
- Report to Design HOD/Technical Director depending on assigned task.
- Provide Mechanical inspection, troubleshooting and evaluation services
- Coordinate all technical issues within and around the Design Projects
- Represent the company in meetings when required
- Prepare conceptual designs and Construction Drawings for projects engaged by the company.
- Manage and maintain client relationships and communicate with clients to explain proposals, present research findings, establish specifications or discuss project status.
- Providing analytical and problem-solving support, employing engineering skills in support of business and quality improvement processes.
- Preparation of project proposals, Bill of Engineering measurement and evaluation and documentations.
- Assist with Plumbing and Fire Protection Tender Pricing when required.
- Preparation of Design Brief and Design Technical Reports
- Engagement with Engineers, regulators, vendors and others stake holders to plan and review projects.
- Training of subordinates and Trainee Engineers.
- Make presentation at professional meetings to further knowledge in the field.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BSc, BTech /HND or M.Sc. (or its equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 6 years post NYSC experience working in same capacity and industry
- Proficiency in the use of Plumbing software. E.g Epanet
- Proficiency in the use of Fire Protection software. E,g Elite
- Good knowledge of relevant Plumbing and Fire Protection codes and standards
- Must be a registered Member of COREN & NSE.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit will be an added advantage.
