ASSISTANT MEP PLANNER- LAGOS (ONSITE-FULL TIME)

JOB SUMMARY

The MEP Planner is responsible for creating, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Firefighting (MEPF) systems. The role involves collaborating with project teams to ensure accurate scheduling, resource allocation, and timely project delivery while maintaining alignment with company standards and client expectations. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Schedule Development and Maintenance 

  • Prepare detailed project schedules for MEPF systems, incorporating all phases of design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning. 
  • Define key milestones, deliverables, and critical paths for MEPF works. 
  • Regularly update schedules to reflect project progress, changes, and unforeseen delays. 

    2. Coordination and Integration 
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate MEPF schedules with overall project timelines. 
  • Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to align schedules with deliverables and dependencies. 
  • Ensure logical sequencing of MEPF activities and identify potential conflicts. 

    3. Monitoring and Reporting 
  • Track project progress and monitor the performance of MEPF works against the baseline schedule. 
  • Generate periodic progress reports, highlighting deviations and proposed corrective actions. 
  • Provide detailed look-ahead schedules to support site teams and management. 

    4. Risk and Impact Analysis 
  • Identify risks to the schedule and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with the project team. 
  • Analyze the impact of design changes, scope variations, and site conditions on the schedule. 
  • Recommend recovery plans to minimize delays and maintain project timelines. 

    5. Tools and Documentation 
  • Utilize scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent software to develop and manage schedules. 
  • Maintain accurate records of schedule revisions, delays, and project updates. 
  • Prepare as-built schedules and project documentation for handover and close-out phases. 

    6. Stakeholder Communication 
  • Participate in project planning meetings to discuss schedule status and challenges. 
  • Communicate schedule updates and forecasts effectively to stakeholders, including clients and consultants. 
  • Address inquiries and provide insights on MEPF schedule-related matters. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical, or a related field. 
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in project planning, preferably in MEPF or construction projects. 
  • Certifications: Proficiency in scheduling tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project is required. PMP or similar certification is an advantage.
