JOB SUMMARY
The ideal candidate will play a critical role in developing precise and efficient mechanical designs for our Mechanical projects, ensuring alignment with industry standards and project requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and Drafting: Create, modify, and manage detailed drawings for mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, and plumbing, ensuring they meet the required standards and project specifications.
- Coordination: Collaborate with electrical, plumbing, and firefighting teams to integrate mechanical designs into comprehensive MEP layouts.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design calculations, shop drawings, as-built drawings, and material submittals. Save sketches and drawings on CAD server; keeping the server organized; updating project folders and files as job progresses and revisions are made.
- Standards Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to applicable codes, standards, and regulations, such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, and local building codes.
- Problem-Solving: Identify design challenges and propose practical and cost-effective solutions to meet project objectives.
- Site Support: Provide technical support during construction phases, including responding to RFI (Requests for Information) and resolving on-site design issues.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other BIM tools to create and manage project designs efficiently.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 7 years proven experience as a CAD Engineer, preferably in an MEP contracting environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-standard design tools.
- Strong understanding of MEPF systems, including HVAC, piping, and plumbing.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA etc.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
